Zoe Rachael Staum is an associate in the Litigation Group at Frankfurt Kurnit.
Ms. Staum litigates complex commercial matters in federal court and international and national arbitrations, as well as defending clients in Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) investigations. Her experience includes representing companies from a variety of industries. She has served on both the plaintiff's and defendant's side in breach of contract actions.
Prior to joining Frankfurt Kurnit, Ms. Staum clerked in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, where she handled a broad range of disputes, including intellectual property, First Amendment, jurisdiction, employment, and criminal matters. She previously worked as an associate at a law firm in New York, maintaining an active pro bono practice in immigration and family law, including multiple asylum trials.
Ms. Staum received her law degree from Columbia Law School, where she was a two-time semifinalist in the Harlan Fiske Stone Moot Court competition, Managing Editor of the Columbia Journal of Asian Law, and Kent Scholar. She received her undergraduate degree in Asian Studies from Lafayette College. As an undergraduate, Ms. Staum was nationally ranked in debate and earned a scholarship from the Department of State to study in China.
Prior to attending law school, Ms. Staum was an educator at Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri.
Ms. Staum is admitted to practice in New York and the Southern District of New York.
